According to a survey in 1990, there were around 10,000 people who had an access to Internet. But now, the figure is around 500 million people worldwide. With the immense popularity of computers and Internet, there comes the risk of cyber crimes. To counter them there are cyber laws now. They provide legal assertion to users and check on criminals. Cyber crime can be of criminal, civil or moral nature.
The cyber laws came into being as existing laws did not take into consideration cyber aspects, as it was not popular then. Law enforcement agencies and computer professionals close cooperation resulted in the formulation cyber laws to make Internet safe for the users.
The law enforcement agencies take into consideration the criminal mindset and try to gather evidences to get offenders their due respect and justice. Whereas, computer programmers try to read the mind of the culprits and know how did one reach to the hacking stage. Cyber laws enforcement is quite severe and authorities make sure that the victim is harassed as minimum as possible.
